Michael Che’s benefit for NYC public housing features surprise appearances by Amy Schumer and Colin Jost — and lots of raunchy humor

Michael Che needed a moment to go off script. The "Saturday Night Live" comedian had just taken the stage Friday night before a sold-out Irving Plaza crowd to headline a stand-up special to benefit public housing when he paused from comedy mode. "We raised a ton of money. ... This is beautiful," Che told the packed house. Che, 35, who grew up in public housing on the Lower East Side, earlier announced the benefit raised nearly $110,000 before the doors opened.
